Why I’m Happy to Call Almaguin My Home

Before we moved to this area, more than 40 years ago, my Dad bought some pine lumber from Kent’s Mill, in Joly Township.  Lewis Kent delivered it to us on his way to Toronto and met my Dad for the first time.  Many years later, on a subsequent camping trip,  we went in search of property to buy…and the mill. My Dad knew he wanted to live here when Lewis recognized him after that one time meeting, years before. He thought there just couldn’t be a better place… where wonderfully friendly people remembered you.

It’s that warm, welcoming feeling… teamed with incredible lakes and waterways, magnificent Highlands, spectacular views and so much more that attracts people to this beautiful area. From Huntsville to North Bay to Parry Sound and Algonquin Park, there’s something for everyone. Cottages, homes, bush lots, farms, businesses… it’s all here!

I am passionate about Muskoka and Almaguin Highlands and I have a deep, rich history with the area. Let me share that passion and knowledge with you as you embark on your journey.
